The Money Issue

August 2021

Founder’s Note

Outside of my birthday month *pssst… it’s October* August is one of my favorite months at Cubicles to Cocktails. It’s the month where we unapologetically talk about women and money– although we do this all the time anyway lol!

I hate that we have to fight hard af to overcome the money barriers we face. BUT! I love talking money to arm you and myself with the knowledge and resources we need to build wealth despite it all– which is also why we also launched our annual Money Talks women’s financial empowerment event series.

This issue of the Cubicles to Cocktails digital magazine is all about getting that paper and making the most of it: financial literacy to building generational wealth.

Cheers, get money!

Passion to Purpose Issue

July 2021

Founder’s Note

I’ve been doing a lot of reflection on my career journey, including my current path and future goals. Personally, I want to align my passions, my expertise, and my business better. I’ve never been one to preach that you must build a business and quit your 9-to-5 to build wealth. I firmly believe in embracing your “AND.” You can be a dope corporate leader AND a poppin’ businesswoman!

You can leverage your “AND” to pivot your career and earn more. You can leverage your “AND” to strengthen your brand and therefore create more lucrative opportunities for yourself. You can leverage your “AND” to explore and enjoy your other interests while earning additional income.

I say all this to say… embrace your AND! whatever that may mean to you and your career!

Cheers,
Christa Clarke

Founder’s Note

Afterwork happy hours with my goalfriends inspired me to launch Cubicles to Cocktails. We talked about everything but more importantly we talked about our career and life goals. Our conversations were the way of gaining beneficial advice to navigate corporate life, celebrate one another, and validate our experiences as women of color. This issue of the Cubicles to Cocktails digital magazine is exploring the importance of growing your “net worth along with your network” and the value of social currency + our relationships.

Cheers,

The Wellness Issue

May 2021

Founder’s Note

Entering corporate life was a culture shock to me. Unfortunately, I’ve found myself learning many life and career lessons in a toxic work environment. Since then, I’ve been healing the workplace trauma I’ve encountered and unlearning my “working twice as hard” mentality. I still have my fair share of struggles with perfectionism and anxiety. We need to talk more about the relationship between our careers and our well-being, especially our mental wellness. May’s digital issue is all about exploring trauma in the workplace and healing. Asking ourselves: What does wellness really mean in our communities? How does it look? As we continue to level up together, its time to heal together too.

Cheers,
Christa Clarke

Mother’s day Edition: Women Who Made Us! Lessons that Paid Us!

May 2021

We look like them. We laugh like them and in many cases, we love like them. Our mothers and motherly figures taught us how to be women and the lessons we learned from them are ones we have the pleasure of passing along to our children. This week we spoke with five career women to see what lessons have stuck with them over the years from the women they call mommy.

I’m so excited to announce the relaunch of the Cubicles to Cocktails digital magazine. At Cubicles to Cocktails, we believe in amplifying the voices of women of color. We’ve made it our mission to share resources that will empower women both personally + professionally. What better way to mark the occasion than by revealing this issue’s theme– The Culture Add! In this issue we’re investigating diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We are also creating space to honor our impact and contributions at work and beyond. This is just the very beginning of what is yet to come. So dive in and enjoy!
